This year’s theme was orchids from Madagascar.
The massed displays were almost too garish for my taste, but the individual flowers were exquisite.
When taking close ups it’s very hard to get everything sharp. Sometimes it works
But to get really close you need to “focus stack”. Take lots of pictures, changing the focus point each time (fortunately the camera does this for you) and then merge in Photoshop to use just the sharp focused layers. Has to be hand held – no tripods allowed, and of course no control over the lighting.
