Photos from walk on Thursday 6th June from White Hill Kingsclere

Only a few “proper” pictures, two flowers, and the rest are bugs, so feel free to look away if they aren’t your cup of tea (but there is some sex).

Dactylorhiza fuchsii, the common spotted orchid,

Bittersweet nightshade / bitter nightshade / woody nightshade (Solanum dulcamara)

These Signal flies (Platystoma seminationis) were dancing round each other, and then…

mating.

Dark Bush-cricket – Pholidoptera griseoaptera

Probably a sawfly Tenthredo livida

A few more in the gallery: a wasp mimic, a garden chafer, a type of dance fly, a flesh fly, a burnet companion moth – and a bird!
