Red Deer in Richmond Park

A morning following the deer, with Steve Hedges.

A cloudy damp day, so no cold frosty morning shots, and no backlit sunrise shots. But the stags were active, with lots of bellowing.  In the end, it was the day of the jackdaw.

Organised by the Fungus Survey of Oxfordshire, with a extensive display table.

Introductory talk by their President Richard Fortey, followed by three walking groups. Mine expertly led by Richard Fortey.  Most of the fungi we found I would have missed, and just walked on by looking for the big “signature” mushrooms.
