The hot, flat, drylands (wetlands in winter) of Kibble Ditch and Mill Brook, draining the water from Blewbury to the Thames at Wallingford. If a low pimple on the northern horizon can dominate the landscape, that’s what Brightwell Barrow did.

Navigating round North Morton was a challenge. First a stand-alone gate
Then, three times, a badly maintained style with a high gate, this one disguised to look like a fence with no access, the lower gate being padlocked.

Yesterday’s pictures truly illustrate the aridity in the area. The history of that Spitfire is very interesting.
