On Watlington Hill

Clumps from Watlington Hill

Now, it’s BUG TIME

This is yet a different caterpillar.  After the brown-tail moth, and the ermine moth, this is the yellow-tail moth larvae (Euproctis similis). Found right at the end at the bottom of the hill, on a dogwood bush.

This fellow joined me at coffee time. Soldier Beetle (Cantharis fusca)

And now FLOWERS

Comfrey, after rain

The tree outside the pub was a Whitebeam (sorbus aria), and this was its flower

On Watlington Hill, there were lots of yellow flowers – Common Rockrose (Helianthemum nummularium).  Look like buttercups (there were some up there also).  Which is which…..

This second one is the Meadow Buttercup (Ranunculus acris)
